Personal Development
Like any other human being, I have held my fair share of interests and hobbies throughout my life besides developing web sites and digital graphics. Although some of my other hobbies and interests have held a longer spot in my life, I do not feel the need to pursue them professionally at this point in time. They are mainly my escape from work when I need some time to myself or time to relax. Below are links and descriptions to my other hobbies and interests.
Fencing
I have been an active member of the Ball State Fencing Club since the fall of 2001, during my freshman year at college. Through the years I have taken private lessons in all three fencing categories; Foil, Épée, and Sabre. I now currently hold the title of Club Coach at the Ball State Fencing Club and am in charge of all club instructional needs including appointing and training new instructors and administering private lessons.
Writing
During my early years I was over imaginative. As a child I would create story lines for my action figures that would be complex and evolved beyond just playing with them. This eventually lead to my elementary school years where I began to write down those story lines as well as develop new ones. Throughout high school I continued to write short stories and develop new ideas, characters, and plots. Moving into college I continued writing, having several press releases published, three original poetry works published in two different books, and began to write screen plays and short films that I would later produce myself.
Although I still enjoy writing during my free time, I do not devote as much time and energy to it as I once did during my final years in high school and early years in college. Unlike before where I would devote myself to working on whatever came to my mind I have been focusing my writing skills on creating and developing an online short story series that has been in production since late 2005. Eventually I will have links to my entire collection of works.
Video Production
A long passion of mine has been to write and film a feature-length motion picture based on one of my short stories or to create a new and original piece of work. As I progress slowly to accomplishing this goal I have made several shorts in attempt to gain more information on video production, editing, filming, and the other various aspects that go along with creating a film project.
